Romanian-American Foundation (RAF) started a new partnership with CODECS Foundation for Leadership (CODECS Foundation).

With the financial support from RAF, starting with the school year 2010-2011, CODECS Foundation  will offer the program “Leaders for the Third Millennium – Courage of a Civic Action” in high schools located in small towns (under 50,000 inhabitants), where access to modern and interactive educational resources and opportunities is limited.

Signed on July 12th, the grant agreement provides $ 126,000 financial support from RAF for a three-year intervention.  The program is targeting at least 300 students per year, aged 15 to 19. At the end of the three-year program it is expected that approximately 1,200 students from 25 schools and at least 25 teachers will have acquired civic leadership literacy. The program is designed to include communication and teamwork, negotiation and dispute resolution, self-knowledge, as well as personal management and leadership.

Implemented for eight years in Romanian schools, the “Leaders of the Third Millennium”® program aims to help young people develop new skills and competencies that can lead to an improvement of the social and economic life in Romania.
