Christopher Worman

Christopher Worman is an entrepreneurial executive with 20 years’ experience in civil society, working as a senior organizational development and program consultant to foundations, NGOs, corporations and social enterprises. Mr. Worman spent the last decade focused on international program development and strategy at the intersection of technology, philanthropy and civil society capacity building.

 

A community builder at heart and a believer in participatory design, Mr. Worman was the founder and Executive Director of one of Romania’s first Community Foundations, in Odorheiu Secuiesc; and helped start the Federation of Community Foundations in Romania. Subsequently, Mr. Worman established TechSoup’s Romanian operations where he led the design and implementation of a series of civic tech challenges that helped form Romania’s civic tech community, and built the partnership between Bitdefender and TechSoup that has turned into the world’s largest cyber-security CSR program.

 

After departing Romania, in 2012, Mr. Worman served as TechSoup’s Vice President for Alliances and Program Development where he led global marketing and communications, and was responsible for designing and launching a series of global programs and partnerships reaching and serving more than 1 million NGOs.

 

Currently, Mr. Worman serves as Chief of Strategy and Partnerships at Connect Humanity, a fund for digital equity that he co-founded in 2021. The organization supports communities with the combination of knowledge and financial resources they need to achieve digital equity.

 

He also sits on the Board of WINGS; has led working groups at World Economic Forum and World Bank; lectured at University of Vienna and University of California Berkeley; writes and speaks on topics at the intersection of technology, philanthropy, and society; and consults widely with NGOs, foundations, and corporations.
